Yunnansen 雲南人 Yúnnán rén
The French post office in Yunnansen operated from 1903 to 1910 in the Chinese province of Yunnan, close to the border with French Indochina. Though not a colony, the region was under strong French influence due to the Yunnan–Haiphong railway, French commercial presence, and missionary activity. The post office served as part of France’s extraterritorial postal system in China, using French stamps overprinted "CHINE". Cancellations vary in spelling, reflecting transliterations of the name, such as Yünnan-sen or Yun-nan-sen. The area was not under colonial rule, but the postal presence symbolized France’s semi-colonial reach in southern China during the early 20th century.
