Issued on October 7, 1948, by the Republic of China, this full sheet features a 3-cent surcharge in black on a $5 cherry-colored stamp from the Gold Yuan Surcharge series. Printed without gum by Dah Yeh Printing Co. and Central Trust in Shanghai, the stamp depicts Dr. Sun Yat-sen and was part of emergency monetary reform during severe post-war inflation. Printed via typography on unwatermarked paper, it measures 22 x 26 mm and is perforated 12½ x 14. This issue belongs to the daily-use definitive series and reflects the fragile economic conditions during the final years of Nationalist rule on the mainland. The full mint never hinged (MNH) sheet displays crisp impressions, full selvedge, and intact margins with no faults. A historically charged issue linking revolutionary symbolism with currency crisis measures. Scott 825. Estimate "$140 – 170"
