Issued in August 1941 under Japanese occupation in the region of Mengkiang, this mint never hinged sheet of 49 features the 2½ cent rose violet Martyr stamp with large character overprint specific to the Mengkiang puppet regime. Gravure printed by Commercial Press Ltd., Hong Kong, on paper with a small multiple "YU" watermark (upright), the stamp has variable perforation and was part of a propaganda-laden postal series celebrating Chinese revolutionary figures, paradoxically repurposed under occupation authority. Catalogued as Scott CN-IM 2N3, Michel JP-MG 43II, China Stamp Society CN-IM MK111, and CN-IM 2N34a, the sheet reflects both political manipulation and the utilitarian adaptation of national iconography. All stamps are in mint never hinged condition with strong overprint and uniform gum, making this complete sheet a rare and historically charged multiple. Estimate "$380 – 440"
