Commemorative block of twelve stamps issued in 1921 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Chinese Imperial Postal Service. Each 1 cent stamp in vivid orange features engraved portraits of key postal reformers including Tang Shaoyi, Liu Kunyi, and Sheng Xuanhuai. This well-preserved multiple from the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, Peking includes full selvage with plate number "1" and imprint. The engraving and classic Qing-style calligraphy border reflect transitional aesthetics of early Republican China. A desirable exhibition piece, free from hinging or toning, and with strong gum.
