This 1919 issue from the French Post Office in Tchongking features a 40 centimes carmine stamp from the Indochinese Women series, overprinted and surcharged in black with a new denomination and local designation. The design by Jules-Jacques Puyplat depicts an Annamite woman and child, reflecting themes of motherhood, traditional dress, and colonial life. Printed using typography at the Imperial Printing Office in Paris, it measures 24 x 40 mm and is perforated 14 x 13½. The stamp was part of the daily issue series used in French postal operations in China. It is catalogued as Scott TCH 64, Michel FR-IC B80VI, Yvert et Tellier FR-TCH 95, and Stanley Gibbons FR-TCH 64.
