This unusual stamp from the French Protectorate in Morocco belongs to the Type Recouvrement series, originally intended as a fiscal recovery label for unpaid values (Recouvrements Valeurs Impayées) under the French law of January 26, 1892. It was repurposed during World War I as a postage due stamp (Timbre-Taxe), overprinted in both French and Arabic. The surcharge "1 CENTIMO" is printed in bold red and black with Arabic script beneath, reading from right to left. The base design is olive green with a large central oval in white containing legal text. The overprint indicates its adaptation to the local currency system and language requirements during the French colonial administration. Issued in 1915, this item reflects the administrative complexity and bilingual postal operations of the time. The stamp is perforated 14 x 13½ and printed by typography. Despite being a postage due, this example remains unused with partial gum and clear overprint visibility, enhancing its collectability among colonial and fiscal specialists.
