This 1911 stamp from the French post offices in Morocco belongs to the “Type Mouchon” series and features the allegorical figure of Liberty seated with the “Droits de l’Homme” inscription. Printed in rose and typographed without watermark, the stamp has been overprinted in blue with a “10” Spanish centimos surcharge along with Arabic script. Notably, this example shows the rare variety with only two dots under the surcharge instead of the standard three—a recognized plate anomaly sought after by specialists. The surcharge also includes the place name “MAROC” and the entire stamp is framed with the postmark date “6-10-14”. With perforation 14 x 13½ and dimensions 21 x 24 mm, it is catalogued as Michel FR-MA 29I, Yvert MA 29c, and Stanley Gibbons FR-MA 32a. A fine example of colonial philatelic adaptation, combining symbolic French republican imagery with local linguistic forms.
