This set from the French Protectorate in Morocco consists of three stamps from the "Type Blanc" issue, originally issued in 1908 and reissued in 1911 with new Arabic surcharges indicating value in santīm (سنتيم). Designed by Joseph Blanc and Emile Thomas, these stamps feature the classical allegorical figure of "La Paix et la Justice" (Peace and Justice) seated with a winged angel and scales. Each stamp bears the original French denomination (1c, 2c, 3c) and an overprint in Arabic script—numerals and the word "santīm"—in red or blue ink. Printed typographically on unwatermarked paper with perforation 14 x 13½, these stamps mark a transitional phase reflecting Morocco’s complex colonial monetary and linguistic landscape. The 1c grey features a red overprint, the 2c violet a blue overprint, and the 3c red-orange also bears a blue overprint. All three examples shown are mint never hinged (MNH), with original gum and minor hinge reinforcements.
