This pair of stamps from the 1908 "Type Blanc" series, issued under French administration in Morocco, features the Spanish currency overprint “CÉNTIMO(S)” on the allegorical "Type Blanc" design by Émile Thomas and Joseph Blanc. The imagery depicts a seated winged figure of Justice with scales and a sword, accompanied by a cherub—symbols of moral order and state authority. The left stamp is printed in grey with a red surcharge "1 CÉNTIMO" over the original French 1 centime, while the right stamp is in red-orange with a black overprint reading "3 CÉNTIMOS" on the 3 centime base. These issues were created specifically for use in the Spanish zones of Morocco, reflecting both colonial influence and practical currency conversion for local use. Both stamps are in mint never hinged (MNH) condition, showing clear typography and vibrant overprint impressions. The reverse of each shows mirror offset from the overprint—an occasional artifact in this series. Catalog references include Michel FR-MA 20/22, Scott FR-MA 11/13, Yvert MA 20/22, and Stanley Gibbons FR-MA 14/16. These stamps represent a compelling intersection of French design and Spanish postal influence within Morocco's colonial postal history.
