This horizontal set of three overprinted stamps from the French post offices in Morocco spans two early issues of the “Type Blanc” series, designed by Joseph Blanc and engraved by Emile Thomas. Each stamp depicts allegorical figures representing Justice and Commerce, with scales and cornucopia prominently displayed. The grey 1 centimo stamp from 1911 is overprinted in red with Arabic script and the numeral “1”, catalogued as Michel FR-MA 25, Scott FR-MA 26, Yvert MA 25, SG FR-MA 28. The purple 2 centimos stamp, also from 1911, is surcharged in blue and inscribed in Arabic, corresponding to Michel FR-MA 24, Scott FR-MA 25. Finally, the orange 3 centimos stamp, issued in 1908, bears a bold blue surcharge with Arabic overprint and is listed under Michel FR-MA 22, Scott FR-MA 13, Yvert MA 22, SG FR-MA 16. All three are printed typographically without watermark and have standard perforation 14 x 13½. These stamps reflect the adaptation of French philately to local linguistic and monetary norms in Morocco, showcasing a unique blend of colonial visual culture and administrative utility.
