Issued in 1906 by the French Post Office in Tchongking, this 10 centimes stamp features the "Tchong K'ing" overprint in black, accompanied by the denomination in Chinese characters. It is based on the celebrated Type Grasset design by Eugène Grasset, portraying allegorical motifs symbolizing trade and classical mythology. Printed in pink by typography at the Imperial Printing Office in Paris, the stamp measures 20 x 24 mm and is perforated 14 x 13½. This daily-use issue exemplifies France’s postal presence in treaty ports and is catalogued as Scott TCH 21, Michel FR-IC B39VI, Yvert et Tellier FR-TCH 52, and Stanley Gibbons FR-TCH 21.
