Issued in 1903 by the French Post Office in Tchongking, this 15 centimes stamp bears the "TCHONG-KING" overprint along with the denomination rendered in Chinese characters. Designed by Louis-Eugène Mouchon, the stamp features allegorical figures symbolizing commerce and mythology, thematically tied to trade and goods. It was printed in purple and red using typography by the Imperial Printing Office in Paris, measures 20 x 24 mm, and has a perforation of 14 x 13½. This daily issue for French post offices in China is catalogued as Scott TCH 6, Michel FR-IC B22V, Yvert et Tellier FR-TCH 37, and Stanley Gibbons FR-TCH 6.
