Issued in 1903 by the French Post Office in Tchongking, this 10 centimes stamp displays the overprint "TCHONG-KING" in capital letters together with the denomination expressed in Chinese characters. Printed in orange-brown using typography at the Imperial Printing Office in Paris, the design by Louis-Eugène Mouchon features allegorical figures evoking commerce and classical mythology. This issue, intended for daily postal use in China under French administration, measures 20 x 24 mm and has a perforation of 14 x 13½. It is listed as Scott TCH 5, Michel FR-IC B21V, Yvert et Tellier FR-TCH 36, and Stanley Gibbons FR-TCH 5.
