Printed in orange-brown using typography at the Imperial Printing Office in Paris, the design by Louis-Eugène Mouchon features allegorical figures evoking commerce and classical mythology. This issue, intended for daily postal use in China under French administration, measures 20 x 24 mm and has a perforation of 14 x 13½.
