French China 1903, block of ten from the Yunnan-Fou overprinted series on the classic Indochina Type Grasset issue, featuring the 1 centime olive green stamp. Overprinted with both “Yunnan-Fou” and the denomination in Chinese characters, this definitive was issued for use at the French Post Office in Yunnan-Fu (Kunming). Designed by Eugène Grasset and printed in typography by the Imprimerie Nationale, Paris, the stamp measures 20 x 24 mm, is perforated 14 x 13½, and belongs to a series showcasing allegorical imagery representing commerce and colonial power. Catalogued as Scott FR-YUN 17, Michel FR-IC B35VII, Yvert FR-YUN 16, and Stanley Gibbons FR-YUN 16. This mint never hinged block of ten is well preserved, with full original gum, sharp impressions, and uniformly fine centering. Estimate "$220 – 270"
